Scripture:

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

There are seasons in motherhood when God feels quiet. You pray, you read Scripture, you try to listen—but nothing feels loud or clear. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder if you’re doing something wrong or if God has stepped away.

But silence does not mean absence. Some of the deepest work God does in our hearts happens in the stillness, when there are no obvious signs or emotional highs. Just like seeds grow underground before anything appears above the surface, faith often grows quietly.

Being still doesn’t always mean sitting alone in perfect peace. Sometimes it looks like trusting God while dishes are piled high, while kids are loud, or while your heart feels tired. God meets us right where we are—not where we think we should be.

If faith feels quiet today, take heart. God is still working, still listening, and still near. You don’t need to manufacture feelings or answers. Simply remain faithful in the small steps, knowing He is faithful in return.

Prayer:

Lord, when You feel quiet, help me trust that You are still near. Teach me to rest in Your presence even when I don’t feel You moving. Strengthen my faith in the waiting. Amen.
